An official ACCC notice concerns Magic Mobility Wheelchair Mobility Handles. If the wheelchair automatically moves without steering, this poses a risk of injury to the occupant. Published 2019-08-13.
What to do now
Consumers should immediately cease the use of the mobility handles by disconnecting them, return all wheelchairs that have the affected handles installed to the place of purchase. A replacement attendant control will be fitted, with a refund of the difference in costs. For wheelchairs that have Mobility Handles fitted to a demo chair, return product that is potentially affected for correction and a full refund. Please do not contact Magic Mobility for further information unless you believe that you have an affected mobility handle under the recall and have not received a recall letter.
