An official ACCC notice concerns John Deere 3000 & 4000 Series Compact Utility Tractors. Without the ROPS pin in place the ROPS could fail in the event of a rollover and may lead to a serious injury. Published 2013-07-23.
What to do now
Consumers should ensure the spring locking pins for the foldable ROPS are in place before operating the tractor and check them frequently during use. Any person who may be operating the tractor should be informed of this situation. John Deere will contact owners about the hazard and advise them to contact the nearest John Deere dealer to get the tractor repaired. This work will be performed at no cost to the owner.
