An official ACCC notice concerns Head Stem Face Plate on Cervelo R5 Bicycles and Cervelo Caledonia 5 Bicycles. If the handlebar comes loose while riding, the rider may lose control of the bicycle which may result in an accident causing serious injury. Published 2022-12-09.
What to do now
If you have a Cervélo R5 or Caledonia-5 bicycle or a frameset purchased after the dates listed, with a stem whose faceplate matches the faceplate shown below in red (the actual stems are black) or a ST31 LT replacement stem, please stop using it immediately and contact your authorized Cervélo dealer to arrange for a free repair to replace the faceplate with the design shown below in green.
