What to do now

Garmin has initiated a software update to address this issue. Consumers should connect/sync their affected Garmin smartwatch with the Garmin Connect mobile app to receive this update. The software update will be automatically downloaded without any interaction from the user when the smartwatch is connected to the Garmin Connect mobile app via the user’s smartphone. Customers can follow the following steps to confirm that their watch has successfully updated: All Affected Models: The software versions can be reviewed on the watch by selecting Menu (holding down the lower right button), then Settings (a gear icon), then System, then About. Finally, swipe up on the watch’s touchscreen to scroll through the various types of software and their respective versions. The software versions that should appear if the update was successful: Non-APAC Models: The watch should have SW version 15.20 or later and Sensor version 25.80 or later. APAC Models: The watch should have SW version 13.16 or later and Sensor version 25.80 or later. Watches sold from Garmin directly to customers or retailers after 25 August 2023 has updated software.
