An official ACCC notice concerns Child Restraint Tether Extension Straps. If the metal snap hook deforms in the event of a collision, the performance of the car restraint may be reduced, increasing the risk of injury to the child. Published 2014-10-21.
What to do now
The Tether Extension strap should be replaced as soon as possible. Consumers should check the batch number on the strap (number is on a white label underneath the label marked WARNING) and if affected, contact Hemco on 1300 065 057 to arrange a replacement Tether Extension strap.
